A happy new year, they say... Is it? Is it obligatory to cheer up at the end of a year? Or is it just me who do not feel the same way? Has the previous year ended up on a gleeful note? Has it helped to create the world a better place? Has it ended the atrocities beyond words? Has it assured to protect the rights of people who suffer? Has it prevented the rampant problem of child abuse? Has it provided shelter to the homeless or food to the malnourished? Has it alleviated the pain of the people of Kashmir? Has it made us forgiving, kind and compassionate towards fellow beings? It has not. The year has failed to do so. Nothing has changed. The people are suffering. The world is burning. Injustice prevails. Nothing has changed but, oh! the calendar. It was another new year with more agony, distress and persecution. Lets hope for a better world, a peaceful, just world. Let's pray for a world where justice prevails and humanity blooms. A happy new year,...
